A new food and flower show is being held on Easter Sunday, and people are being urged to submit entries.

Alnwick Chamber of Trade (ACT) has organised the event, which will take place on March 31, in a marquee in the town’s Market Place from 10am.

It is hoped that the show will become an annual fixture in the calendar and that there will be sufficient interest to get if off the ground.

Entries are invited from all interested parties, such as women’s institutes, schools, churches and individuals .

Categories include cakes, jams and chutneys, fruit and vegetables, floral and miscellaneous (decorated egg/Easter bonnet).

There will be cash prizes and certificates will be awarded.

A £1 entry fee is requested for each category.

For more details or to download an entry form, visit http://tinyurl.com/bs3wxbz. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, March 27.
