A local history group is calling for memorabilia and stories as part of the commemoration of the start of the First World War in Rothbury and Coquetdale.
A number of residents in the area, including former Alnwick District Council chairman, Peter Dawson and Air Vice-Marshal (Retired) Sandy Hunter, are putting together an exhibition at All Saints’ Church, in Rothbury.
Two open afternoons –on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 – are being held at the church for residents to bring along their photographs, postcards, letters and stories to be included in the exhibition.
The open afternoons will take place from 2pm to 5pm.
Peter Dawson said: “We need your help to let us honour those who took part in this war.”
The exhibition will run for four days from Monday, August 4.
