Busy few months for wildlife charity

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is expecting a busy few months on its Druridge Bay reserves and has guaranteed that estates staff and volunteers alike will not be bored.

Marsh harriers are back for the sixth year on its East Chevington Reserve and staff and volunteers are now keeping their fingers crossed for another successful breeding season.

Work has started on stage one of its Hauxley extension with the installation of a new costal boundary fence.

Estates staff and the Hauxley volunteers are going to be kept busy as one of the viewing hides is all set to have a new roof fitted – the previous one being damaged during the high winds in early spring.

Plus the Druridge Bay volunteers have stepped in to fill a gap and are working hard to keep the grass under control on the reserves.
