Bringing shop back into use as restaurant

A Beadnell hotelier has lodged plans to bring a former village shop back into use.

Michael Dawson, of the Craster Arms Hotel, plans to completely refurbish the vacant cafe and takeaway unit, formerly The Village Pantry, to form a new hot and cold food bistro-style cafe/takeaway and evening restaurant.

It is anticipated the cafe/bistro would operate from 7am to 6pm and the restaurant from 6pm to 11pm.

The building is sandwiched between two residential properties on the corner junction of The Haven and Church Cottages and offers a prominent position for passing trade.

The applicant has stated that adequate free parking would be available to all customers at the nearby Craster Arms.

Matrix Architecture, in documents accompanying the application, reveals that a new ramped access is proposed along with minor changes to the layout.
