Preparations are under way for the new parking regime in Alnwick Market Place, which is set to come into force on Monday, June 2.
The white lines marking out the short-stay parking bays alongside the Northumberland Hall as well as the loading bays on the other three sides of the square have been done, but the signage is yet to go up. Once the new regulations are in place, the county council’s civil enforcement officers will be able to enforce the rules.
However, concerns have been expressed about the look of the paintwork and the issue has been raised with the county council. Pictured is Alnwick Mayor Bill Grisdale.
