Punter John Sinclair had a 31st birthday to remember, after winning £40,600 from just a £2 stake.
The delighted Acklington resident, who has just had his second child, said: “I am going to get my licence and do a crash course.
“I am going to pay off all of my debts. It will be the first time I have been debt-free in a long time.”
He added: “Hopefully the money can also go towards a down-payment for my mortgage.”
John used the Coral app on his phone to place the bet.
He said: “I put £2 on an 18-fold, but one of the teams – the Charlton Athletic game – got postponed, so I ended up with a 17-fold and I won £40,683 I think it was.”
His first four selections were English Premier League sides Southampton, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
John’s win came during the weekend of January 11 and 12 when the bookies took a hammering.
Every team who were in the top seven of the Premier League won their matches and 14 of the top 15 backed sides triumphed on the Saturday, costing the bookmakers £25million.
The mammoth losses faced by the bookies were reportedly the largest since Frankie Dettori won all seven races in that famous afternoon at Ascot, on September 28, 1996,
