Berwick MP has a ball at football club

MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan visited Berwick Rangers Football Club to find out more about the new academy the club is launching.

Mrs Trevelyan, who is a paid-up member of the Berwick Rangers Supporters Club, caught up with the club’s management and met some of the academy applicants.

The club, in partnership with Northumberland College, is forming the Berwick Rangers Football Academy.

Students will be based at the Shielfield Park ground four days a week and will enjoy coaching, as well as studying for their Sport Diploma Levels 2 or 3. Modules will include coaching, training, tactics and fitness.

The academy team will play in the Association of Colleges League.
