Jane Williams, owner of Enhance Beauty Rooms in Alnwick, has won 'Therapist of the Year', sponsored by Fake Bake, at the English Hair and Beauty Awards this month.

An Alnwick-based beautician has beaten other professionals from around the country to win a prestigious accolade at a renowned industry competition.

Jane Williams, owner of Enhance Beauty Rooms in the town’s Bondgate Without, has been named as Fake Bake Therapist of the Year, as part of the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2013.

She was presented with a glass plaque by Big Brother winner Josie Gibson during the glamorous event, at Manchester’s Midland Hotel earlier this month.

The judges were looking for a beauty therapist who delivers excellent treatments, results and customer service, while maintaining a loyalty to the Fake Bake tanning brand.

Jane beat fellow category finalists Maria Dallagiovanna, of Wigs & War Paint, in Sheffield, Leanne Forder, from B Hair & Beauty, in Norwich, Louise Robinson, from Liverpool’s Beauty by Lou, and Gemma Burkinshaw, of Gems Beauty Studios, in Barnsley, to win the award.

“I am thrilled. I knew I was shortlisted but could only dream of winning,” said Jane, who has more than a decade’s experience in the industry.

“It’s amazing to have acknowledgement for my dedication and hard work towards my business and the support I have had from clients is unreal.”
