Revamp of Paddlers may finally happen
An overhaul of the Paddlers could be on the cards, following discussions with Northumberland County Council officers. Coun Robert Arckless said talks have been positive and told members ‘I fully expect we will see some progress’. Coun Arckless and Coun Jeff Watson have pledged financial support to the Paddlers.
TALKS BEGIN OVER NEW BUS SHELTER
Discussions have started about erecting a bus shelter opposite James Calvert Spence College, on Acklington Road. It is hoped that it would be able to incorporate a seat which has recently been installed. Couns Arckless and Watson have offered to financially support the scheme if it goes ahead. There may be some highway issues to discuss.

PEOPLE DRIVING ALONG WALKWAY
The quality of work which has been carried out to the walkway at the Percy Drive allotments has been praised, although it is so good that people have been driving down it and parking in the area. Amble Allotment Holders Society has discussed collapsible bollards. Councillors agreed to extend the boundary fence which extends towards Northumbria Terrace.
COMPLAINTS OVER TRAFFIC WARDENS
Coun Watson said that parking on Queen Street has raised its head again. He said: “Some residents have complained about the traffic wardens being out and was this because the bottom car park is closed. But if you park legally, you’ll be okay.”
