Investigations have started to establish the cause of a fire at a derelict factory site last night.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze at the former Northumberland Foods building, in Amble, at 5.49pm.

The fire has been extinguished and a number of inspections have been carried out since.

Pumps from Amble, Alnwick (two), Pegswood (two) and West Hartford attended the incident.
