Snow in north Northumberland has led to school closures and problems with roads and public transport
In Alnwick, St Michael’s and Alnwick South first schools along with St Paul’s first and middle schools and the Duchess’s Community High School.
Lindisfarne Middle School is closing to pupils who travel by bus.
Shilbottle, Warkworth and Whittingham first schools and Rothbury’s Dr Thomlinson Middle School are also being shut due to the weather conditions.
On the buses, the 472 Amble, Shilbottle and Alnwick service is to be suspended, while Arriva’s X15 is omitting Warenford due to icy conditions.
The X18 is following its usual route but there are delays because of the snow.
On the roads, police are advising motorists to avoid the A1068 between Alnwick and Alnmouth if possible due to difficult conditions.
