Dennis Williams, of Craster, and Bill Price, of Low Newton, had their hands full when a five-foot conger eel forced its way their lobster pot .

The eel, who they dubbed Sid, got trapped and a little angry.

While trying to set it free, it displayed its speed and power by doing several circuits of the boat looking for revenge.

Dennis managed to arrest its antics with a piece of rope and Bill took this photograph.

It was impossible to weigh the creature so they wished it well and returned it to the deep.
