The seventh and eighth centuries will be the focus of the next meeting of Glendale and Local History Society, when Prof Richard Bailey gives an illustrated presentation Early Anglo-Saxon Northumbria and Europe.

The meeting of two worlds in the seventh and eighth centuries.

It takes place on Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Cheviot Centre, Wooler.

Richard Bailey was lecturer and then professor and pro-vice chancellor at Newcastle University. He has published and lectured widely on Anglo-Saxon topics.
