If all goes to plan, this is where north Northumberland pupils will be going to high school in Alnwick by September 2016.

Miller Construction, which won the contract to build all 12 schools in the North East being funded through the Priority School Building Programme, has now submitted plans to Northumberland County Council.

The application is for the relocation of the Duchess’s Community High School and development of the Greensfield site to provide new school premises, parking, landscaping and sports facilities.

It means the scheme is on schedule, as previously reported in the Gazette, for building to start between December this year and February 2015. This would mean a final handover of the new school in August 2016.
