The Stephen Carey Fund is delighted to announce that a major civil-engineering company has selected its cause as recipients of a substantial donation.

FP McCann operate throughout the UK providing a range of services, but provide pre-cast concrete pipes from their site at Littlehoughton near Howick.

The team at FP McCann were asked to put forward suggestions for good causes as part of the organisation’s charitable efforts. As a result, The Stephen Carey Fund received £1,000.

The Fund committee has decided to match the donation and are now in discussions with representatives from Embleton Parish Council, selected by the fund committee, who will soon have their own public-access defibrillator courtesy of this generous donation.

George Skipper, chairman of Embleton Parish Council, said: “We have been recently looking into a public-access defibrillator for the village and were obviously delighted to receive the proposal from The Stephen Carey Fund.

“It is heartening that this cause and the local businesses are able to work together to provide life-saving equipment for local communities”
