Two RNLI lifeboats were launched this morning to help a stricken boat off the Northumberland coast.

The all-weather lifeboat from Amble and the inshore Atlantic 85 from Newbiggin were launched just before 8.30am today to a broken-down fishing coble in the Druridge Bay area.

Newbiggin Coastguard Rescue Team had been tasked to investigate reports of the vessel in difficulty. Newbiggin inshore lifeboat was launched to make initial contact with the coble, then the Amble crew took over, towing the coble back to Amble.
