Let’s get collecting

The fund-raising has started and coins are beginning to pile up for the Jam Jar Army’s new charity SHAK.

And throughout the year, to remind people why we are supporting the large-breed dog charity and to raise awareness of what it does, we are going to feature a dog of the week, whether it be one that needs a new home or a new arrival at the SHAK kennels, north of Alnwick.

Kicking off the feature is Lola, whohas been with SHAK for a long time .

It doesn’t have much history on her, but she is a high priority for getting rehomed.

Anyone interested can email shak@shak.org.uk

Meanwhile, a fund-raising dog walk to mark the handover from the Alnwick Playhouse Youth Theatre to SHAK has had to be rearranged and will not take place tomorrow.

The Gazette will publish the details of the walk as and when they are available.

We want businesses, organisations, families and individuals to hold collections.

Get in touch with us – on 01665 602234 or ben.ocon nell@jpress.co.uk – if you want to get involved or have any ideas for fund-raising.

We have some jam jars to collect at the Northumberland Gazette office. In the coming weeks, we will be getting new stickers with the SHAK logo to decorate jars.

Full jars can be dropped off at the Gazette office on Bondgate Without.
