There’s still time to vote for The Old Boat House in Amble, which has been nominated for Coastal Fish Restaurant of the Year in the 2017 Fishing News Awards, after winning the title last year.

The restaurant, part of a group which includes Blyth Boathouse and Fish Shack at the Sea Quest in Northumberland, is the only venue in the north of England to be nominated.

Voting closes at midnight on Friday. Vote for The Old Boat House at tiny.cc/boathouse
The Old Boat House Food Group owner, Martin Charlton, believes that winning the award would greatly benefit the coastal community by raising awareness of North-East tourism and creating more opportunities for young people in the region.

“The award would really shine a light on Northumberland and the North East coast and more visitors would be a boost to the local economy. This would allow us to further our commitment to giving young people in the North East the opportunity to gain employment and learn high level skills.”

On the back of last year’s award, The Old Boat House has been able to grow itsteam, invest in apprenticeships and expand the premises to offer a greater dining experience for their customers.

Martin added: “To win the award for a second time would prove we are consistently dedicated to great food and excellent service, but it’s also a testament to the people of the North East who continue to support local businesses.”
