Lane closed after A1 crash

One of the lanes on the northbound carriageway of the A1 has been closed just south of Alnwick following an accident.

Police received a report of an accident at 8.09am although no details on the cars involved or injuries are available at the moment.

One lane is closed but the other is being kept open and police are advising people to stay on the A1 and be patient as the minor roads have not been treated.
