THEATRE-GOERS will have the chance to win some prizes while contributing to the Jam Jar Army’s march for the Playhouse Youth Theatre this week.

During Saturday’s performance of Pirates of the Curry Bean, the latest production from the junior group of the Youth Theatre, raffle tickets will be sold.

A selection of Muppets merchandise is up for grabs and the winner will be drawn at the screening of The Muppets film on Saturday, April 4, at 2pm.

All the money raised will go towards the £10,000 target for the Army and its current beneficiary the Playhouse Youth Theatre.

Last week the Army hit its first milestone as we passed £1,000.

And this week the total has taken another jump, with a number of jars coming in. The total now sits at £1,607.33.

We want businesses, organisations, families and individuals to all have their own collections.

Full jars can be dropped off at the Alnwick Playhouse, the Northumberland Gazette office in Bondgate Without or the Lions bookshop in Bondgate Within, Alnwick.

We also have new stickers with the Alnwick Playhouse Youth Theatre logo to decorate jam jars available to collect from the Gazette office.

Anyone with a novel idea for raising funds should get in touch with Ben O’Connell on 01665 602234 or ben.oconnell@northeast-press.co.uk

Follow the campaign as it marches across north Northumberland in the Gazette.
