Jobs and suitable housing are key concerns for plan

The group preparing the neighbourhood plan for Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell carried out a survey at the end of last year.

Overall, 1,250 questionnaires were given out to permanent residences during October and November 2014 with a further 1,250 given to the second/holiday homes in the area. A total of 416 completed questionnaires had been received by January, 322 from people who said it was their primary residence.

Most agreed with the group’s draft vision and 89 per cent said they were very or fairly satisfied with the parish in which they lived.

There appeared more concern about the lack of employment opportunities or training than in previous consultations, while access to suitable housing was a key theme.
