Police are appealing for information after thieves raided a house in Northumberland and stole a range of items, including jewellery and a laptop.

The incident happened between 3pm and 5.45pm on Friday at a house in Lucker and the thieves also made off with silverware and a Black and Decker drill.

It is believed that a silver VW Golf, as well as a white van, were seen driving up the hill in Lucker towards the house and police are asking for these drivers to come forward as they may have information about the burglary.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 894 20/02/15. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The appeal comes as part of Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, which is aimed at tackling those suspected of being involved in opportunist theft and burglary.
