A NEW recruit has joined the ranks of the Jam Jar Army.
Sir Alan Beith has pledged his allegiance to the cause, which is raising money for HospiceCare North Northumberland.
The charity provides invaluable support to people with life-limiting illnesses across the region.
And Sir Alan, Liberal Democrat MP for the Berwick-upon-Tweed constituency, said he was ‘delighted’ to sign up for the campaign, which we launched earlier this year.
“HospiceCare offers essential support,” he said.
“We all have coppers in our change that ways down our pockets and handbags. What better use for them than to be put in a jar and sent to support the hospice, which depends on public support for its fund-raising.”
Full jars can be dropped off at our office in Alnwick, as well as the Lions bookshop on the town’s Bondgate Within and the HospiceCare centres in Alnwick and Berwick. Stickers for jars and posters for shop windows are also available from our office.
