Festive treat delights pensioners

Party hats, crackers and fizz were the order of the day when the Elderberries Programme at The Alnwick Garden hosted a Christmas lunch.

Over 100 Elderberries enjoyed the occassion which was supported by the Stuart Halbert Foundation which aids projects that benefit people, animals, the armed forces and local communities in the North East of England.

Guests included the Duchess of Northumberland, Sir John Hall and members of the Halbert family and treats for the participants included a gift from Fenwick in Newcastle and a pair of socks from Johnston Cashmere.

Guests were delighted to be entertained by music from Swansfield Primary School, the Dukes Middle School and music group Alnwicky.
