Information appeal

POLICE are appealing for information after two burglaries in north Northumberland.

Between 6pm and 11.45pm on Monday, burglars broke into a house in Victoria Road, Wooler.

They searched the house but left empty handed.

Between 11am and 8pm the same day, thieves also broke into a house near Thornton, Cornhill.

They got inside through an upstairs window and searched the premises, stealing jewellery worth around £5,000.

Items taken included a number of gold rings, a necklace, bracelet and several pairs of earrings.

Officers are carrying out inquiries into the incidents and are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the burglaries and who has any information to contact them on 101 ext 69191.
