HOLIDAY parks and tourist attractions in Northumberland have commenced their annual recruitment drive, with hundreds of jobs available.
Businesses such as The Alnwick Garden, Haggerston Castle Holiday Park near Berwick and Whitley Bay Holiday Park have announced their staffing plans for 2012 and are looking for enthusiastic recruits in a variety of customer service roles and some catering, maintenance and even lifeguard positions.
Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden are in the process of recruiting 120 new seasonal staff for the opening of the Garden on February 10 and Castle on March 30.
A spokeswoman said: “Applications are now closed but Alnwick Castle and The Garden will be looking to recruit a further 20 to 30 summer staff for the months of July and August and are working with the Chamber of Commerce to provide NVQ and apprenticeship training for seasonal staff.”
Both Haggerston Castle and Whitley Bay Holiday Parks are holding open days for interested jobseekers to find out more about the positions they have on offer.
Adam Whitehouse, deputy holiday experience manager at Haggerston Castle, said: “Seasonal work is a great way to keep your CV up to date, adding new experiences and examples of team working and customer service.
“We welcome many new faces each year and we are delighted with the way they fit into an exciting and vibrant workplace.
“I know the experience they get helps many to move into permanent work soon after.”
Haggerston Castle is holding its open day on Saturday, February 11, between 10am and 4pm at the holiday park, while Whitley Bay Holiday Park is holding open days on Saturday, February 4, and Monday, February 6, between 10am and 4pm.
Anyone interested in attending the Whitley Bay event is asked to complete an application form from www.park-resorts.com and bring it along on the day.
