A north Northumberland park opened its doors for a family charity cycle run at the weekend.

More than 170 cyclists took part in a six-and-a-half mile ride in Hulne Park, Alnwick, on Sunday.

The event raised more than £1,000 for HospiceCare North Northumberland.

Rebecca Taylor, community and events fund-raiser from HospiceCare, said: “‘We were delighted when His Grace The Duke of Northumberland gave us permission to open Hulne Park once again to leisure cyclists for this event.

“It was great to see more than 40 families and adults take part and explore the park on their bikes.

“We wish to thank all of the participants who took part, raising over £1,000 for HospiceCare North Northumberland.

“Further thanks for the fabulous support of Alnwick Cycling Club, acting as cycling marshalls and stewards.”
