An arms-length management organisation has announced the creation of 10 new apprenticeships.

To coincide with business demands, Homes for Northumberland (HfN) is looking to recruit apprentices in several different roles.

These include customer service, business administration and repairs and maintenance.

The apprenticeships will begin in September and last up to three years.

It will entail gaining experience within the company and gaining a qualification through Northumberland College.

The apprenticeships are part of HfN’s scheme to empower its tenants, who are strongly encouraged to apply, as tenants with the correct skills and qualifications will be given priority.

However, applications are welcome from all as recruitment will ultimately be based on merit.

HfN, who manage 8,500 council homes in Alnwick and Blyth Valley on behalf of Northumberland County Council, will be funding eight of the ten apprenticeships.

The county council will be supporting the remaining two.
