Consultation over a restructuring process at a north Northumberland school is under way, the Gazette has been told.
Alnwick’s Duke’s Middle School headteacher Dawn Morton said she was not willing to discuss the details of the consultation or whether there would be any redundancies as a result.
She said that the school was carrying out the correct procedures and nothing was set in stone.
“We are looking at a restructuring process, which is currently out for consultation and with the unions at the moment,” she said.
“We are following all of the HR rules and it is about getting the best possible outcome for our pupils.
“Staff can discuss this with me and we are being completely open and above board. It is all speculation at present because there could be changes.”
The school is part of the Aln Community Schools Federation.
