The dentist who sparked a recall of patients to an Alnwick clinic earlier this year is no longer able to practise.
As reported in the Gazette in January, fears over infection control at Genix Healthcare Dental Clinic, based at Cawledge Business Park, led to 28 patients being recalled for checks and blood tests.
It followed concerns that the dentist in question ‘may not have been following the high-quality standards that would be expected’.
An investigation was launched and now the local area team of NHS England has confirmed that the patient recall has concluded and tests for all patients came back negative and where appropriate arrangements were made for patients to receive follow-up treatment.
The dental performer in question is no longer on the General Dental Council Register and as such will no longer be able to practise dentistry.
