Two north Northumberland-based community groups have been selected to stand a chance of winning a £500 donation, but they need the public’s help to bag the cash.
Red Row Welfare Football Club and Save our Squirrels Berwick Group are in the running to receive the funding, as part of Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving Campaign.
This year drew record numbers of entries from community groups all across the UK and with more than 1,000 applications, the Society has carefully selected groups they feel will benefit from the funding.
Having made it to this stage, the shortlisted groups, including Red Row Welfare and the Berwick squirrels group, are now calling upon the public to vote for them to help them be one of the 162 organisations to receive the £500 donation.
It means that it all now comes down to the community to choose who is awarded the funds.
All of the shortlisted groups have been selected for the contributions they make within their local community.
Voting started earlier this month and votes can be cast by visiting www.skiptongrg.co.uk
There is also information about each community group on the website.
