Students at Amble’s James Calvert Spence College scored positive results in their GCSEs.

And executive headteacher of the Coquet Federation, Christine Graham, said she was very proud of all the pupils.

She admitted there had been some successes and disappointments this year, for individuals and subjects.

But Mrs Graham said that in other subjects, the school intends to take some of the papers back for remarking.
