GCSE joy for Amble pupils

Students at Amble’s James Calvert Spence College are toasting a job well done today after a successful showing in their GCSE results.

This year has seen a rise in the number of A* and A grades while there was a 10 per cent rise in the number of A* to C grades in English and maths combined.

Proud executive headteacher Christine Graham praised her hard-working students and staff for the pleasing show.

One of the stand-out students was Cameron Forester, from Warkworth, who bagged eight A*s and a A, among other grades.

He said his results were ‘absolutely great’.
