GAZETTE COMMENT: Help to make a house a home for Aidan

Little Aidan Jackowiak Smith has touched the hearts of our readers, who have given both financial and emotional support to the family over the past year or so. And now, we are asking you to do us proud once again.

The Gazette has teamed up with MKM Building Supplies to launch the Aid For Aidan campaign to help the family make their soon-to-be new home suitable for the youngster’s needs.

This DIY SOS-themed push is hugely important to this loving family who are making the move to give Aidan the best quality of life possible.

The house, in its current state, is in need of work. Even the housing specification from Rook Matthews Sayer describes the property as being a renovation project.

But even more work is needed in this particular case to make it fit for purpose for Aidan, complete with a lift, wheelchair-adapted space and sensory garden.

So we are calling businesses, tradespeople and residents to come forward, lend a hand and help make this house a home.

This really could be a triumph for all of the community to share in.
