What better present could there be than a new heart for Christmas?
For little Summer Carss and her family it was the best thing that could happen and hopefully now she is on the road to recovery.
At just three years old, she has been through more than most of us will go through in our entire lives.
The chances of needing a second heart transplant just a year after the first are slim anyway.
But for such a young child to have to go through it is devastating.
Yet Summer has taken it all in her stride, and while she has been poorly, she has still managed to smile.
Her parents Paul and Julie have been with her every step of the way.
For them it has been an agonising wait but hopefully that has now come to an end.
Our thoughts are with them all and we hope that Summer bounces back from her operation and can go home with her family as soon as possible.
Christmas might be delayed for the Carss household but it’ll be the best yet when it happens.
