A north Northumberland road, which was closed for almost three-and-a-half years following a landslide, needs further work –but not in the same place.

The B6344, between the A697 and Rothbury, was closed from Boxing Day 2012, until this March, due to a landslip at Crag End.

Now, at the other end, near the A697, a county council spokeswoman has confirmed that there are ‘some irregularities in the road surface at Todsteads, near Weldon Bridge, which require attention’.

“Some remedial work, involving minor resurfacing, will be carried out shortly.”
