ALNWICK and District Citizens Advice Bureau has received a grant of £4,628 from the Nationwide Foundation to support its work in the community.
The funding will be used to help provide welfare benefits advice to older people living in Alnwick, Amble and the surrounding rural area.
Alnwick and District CAB is a registered charity which provides local people with information and advice on a wide range of issues including benefits, debt, housing and employment.
Bureau manager Moira Macfarlane said: “We are very grateful to the Nationwide Foundation for this donation. In the current economic climate many older people are struggling to make ends meet and this funding will help us to provide them with advice on welfare benefits and other sources of financial help.”
Lisa Suchet, the Nationwide Foundation’s chief executive, said: “Every donation made by Nationwide Foundation aims to help people in need, with a focus on funding charities which help older people. We are confident that our grant will make a significant impact to Alnwick and District CAB.”
