From trainee to partner for Sarah

A NEW partner has been appointed at a north Northumberland law firm.

Sarah Sinclair joined Adam Douglas and Son, which has offices in Alnwick, Berwick and Amble, as a trainee in 2005. A graduate of Northumbria University, she will specialise in wills, lasting powers of attorney, court of protection, estate planning and estate administration.

Her appointment comes just as the firm has secured membership of the prestigious Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) – the mark of excellence in the home-buying process.

The firm had to undergo rigorous assessment by the Law Society to secure CQS status, which recognises the highest standards in residential conveyancing by requiring qualifying law practices to undergo a strict assessment, compulsory training, self reporting, random audits and annual reviews.

It is open only to members of the Law Society meeting the demanding standards set by the scheme and has the full support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association and the Association of British Insurers.

Norman Luke, the senior partner in the firm, said: “At Adam Douglas we are delighted to have secured CQS status as recognition of the high standards we provide to residential property clients.”
