From flora to truffles

This summer has seen Warkworth WI out and about.

The first outing was a mystery coach trip (a real mystery since the weather was so awful we couldn’t see where we were!) followed by a lovely meal at the Tankerville Arms in Eglingham. A good time was had by all despite the disappointing weather.

Better weather accompanied us on the walk and talk on Amble Braid followed by a welcome cup of tea in Artique.

It was also a pleasant, sunny (if windy) day at Warkworth Show where several members were succesful competitors in various classes. The WI tent was also popular with visitors as two of our members demonstrated their great skill at the spinning wheel, pictured above.

We are looking forward to an engaging autumn programme, including a diverse range of subjects from flora and fauna to chocolate truffle-making. New members and visitors are always welcome. Contact the secretary Diana Webber on 01665 713439 or the president Serena Coulter on 01665 710850.
