Police are renewing their appeal to find a man who went missing from his home in Northumberland a week ago today.

Jason Creighton was last seen at his home address on Longridge Way, Cramlington, at around 9.40am on Wednesday, October 28.

The 35-year-old has been missing for a week, with both his family and police growing increasingly concerned for his welfare as his disappearance is completely out of character.

Officers were joined by his parents at Cramlington train station this morning (Wednesday) where they handed out missing person posters carrying an image of Jason in the hope that they will trigger somebody’s memory.

Chief Inspector Jamie Pitt, of Northern Area Command, said: “It has now been a week since Jason went missing and we are still very concerned for his welfare and are desperate for him to be reunited with his family.

“In these types of cases the help of the public can be vital to bringing loved ones home and this one is no different. If you see Jason, or anyone who you may think could be Jason, then we urge you to call the police.

“This is completely out of character for Jason and he has never been away from home for this length of time without contacting his family.

“The local community have already been very supportive and we are thankful for all their help. We would ask that you continue to spread the word and help bring Jason home.”

Jason is due to celebrate his 36th birthday on Thursday, November 5, and his family are desperate to have him home.

They describe him as selfless, always looking after others and a person with a heart of gold who would do anything for anyone.

In a statement, they said: “Jason is so loved and we just want him to come home. Everyone misses him so very much, we have had so much support – all of this friends have been in touch, even one’s he’s not heard from for years.

“The support we have had from people has been fantastic. We’re all heart broken and are desperate for him to come home.”

Jason is described as 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and a dark goatee style beard. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, dark blue combat trousers and a grey woolly hat.

Anyone with information about where Jason may be should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 301 281015.
