Members of The Lord Warkworth Royal Arch Chapter of Freemasons 1879 attended the presentation of a cheque for £3,000 towards Amble’s Shannon Lifeboat Appeal on Friday.

Members of the Chapter, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of its foundation, donated £1,000, while £2,000 was donated by the Freemasons Charity of Northumberland, formerly the Richard Henry Holmes Masonic Benevolent Fund.

As reported in last week’s Gazette, Amble’s new Shannon is due to arrive in The Friendliest Port at 1pm on Wednesday, October 12, weather permitting. The £200,000 fund-raising campaign towards the cost of the state-of-the-art £2million vessel was reached in June.
