The Holy Island Forget Me Not Walk, a great success since its 2008 debut, is back for the fourth year running.
The walk has raised approximately £5,000 each year, with all the funds raised going to the North East Centre for Cancer Research in Newcastle where it is used to fund life-saving research into leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
This year’s five-mile walk is on Sunday, October 7, at 11.30am, and takes in stunning views of the coast, village and castle and is suitable for families but not for buggies. The walk will again be marshalled by Elliott and Pam Hill along with Duke of Edinburgh students from the Berwick Youth Project.
It costs £7.50, £5 a child or £20 for a family of four to take part and walkers can buy a red T-shirt for £2.50 or use shirts from previous walks. A sponsor form can be obtained from Helen Tait on 01289 302501, but walkers are welcome to just want to pay the entry fee.
