Fly-tipping fury

An exasperated resident of Alnwick has again contacted the Gazette to highlight the scourge of fly-tipping, after someone dumped a load of furniture in Cawledge View, less than a mile away from the Household Waste Recovery Centre at Lionheart Entreprise Park.

Ron Murray said: “At 6am, someone just pulled up on the car park in Cawledge View and tipped this mass next to the cemetery gate. Is there any need when the real tip is 400 yards down the road?”

In January this year, Mr Murray highlighted the recurring issue of rubbish being dumped on land between the cemetery wall and Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre.
