A charity golf day in Alnwick is to return later this year and for its third outing, it has been expanded into a family fun day.
Organised by Steve Miller, of AA Taxis, and taking place at Alnwick Castle Golf Club, the golf family fun day takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 1.
This year, all the proceeds will go to the Evie Campbell Fund. The five-year-old from Shilbottle, who goes to school in Alnwick, has the rare blood disorder Diamond-Blackfan anaemia (DBA) and needs a bone-marrow transplant.
The golf competition is for a maximum of 20 teams of four and will be played as a Texas scramble format. The handicap allowance is 3/4 and women get three courtesy shots.
There will be prizes for first, second and third place, as well as closest to the pin and longest drive. Entry costs £80 per team to include a meal following the round.
Steve expects the places will go quickly so get your slot booked as soon as possible. Payment must be made at the time of booking.
Hopefully helping to raise more money for a worthy cause and to take advantage of the bank holiday, this year will also see a family fun day from 11am until 3pm.
Entry will be free and there will be activities such as face-painting, a bouncy castle, children’s rides, a magic show, food available from the clubhouse and an ice-cream van, providing families with something to do that day.
The main sponsor is Kevin Murphy, painter and decorator, but the organisers are keen to receive donations for raffle prizes.
To enter, to offer a raffle prize or for more information, contact Daniel Harrison at the golf club on 01665 602632 or Steve at AA Taxis on 01665 606060.
