Young drivers in Coquetdale are being encouraged to attend a road-safety event which is being hosted by Northumbria Police next month.
The event, which takes place at Rothbury Fire Station on Tuesday, November 15, at 7pm, is aimed at young drivers and their passengers, between the ages of 14 and 24.
There will be briefings by police and firefighters about keeping safe on rural roads and a series of videos. An Operation Dragoon patrol car and staff will be in attendance, while there will also be a driving simulator by Road Respect.
The fire service will carry out a demonstration of casualty extraction from a vehicle and there will be a chance to talk to police officers and firefighters about careers and receive recruitment information.
Neighbourhood Sergeant for Rothbury, Neville Wharrier, said: “You and your children will be most welcome to what we hope will be an informative and thought-provoking evening aimed at keeping our youngsters safe on the roads.”
