Volunteers all set to go wild in new roles

Northumberland Wildlife Trust has appointed seven new volunteer officers to work across the whole organisation.

It is something the wildlife charity has wanted to do for a while but it is only now that it is able to put the idea into place.

Duncan Hoyle, Ray Atkinson, Matt Fitch and Lee Rankin are the new volunteer estates officers, while Laura Thompson is the volunteer admin officer.

Naomi Repper is the volunteer conservation officer and Lyndsey Graham has joined the People & Wildlife Team as volunteer people and wildlife officer.

Each new volunteer officer will work with the Trust at least two days per week, for a minimum period of six months, on a variety of projects while at the same time gaining an insight into how it operates.

The wildlife trust protects more than 60 nature reserves across the North East.
