Environment-minded riverside holiday park joins the wildlife family

NORTHUMBERLAND Wildlife Trust is delighted to welcome a north Northumberland holiday park as its latest corporate member.

Part of the Verdant Leisure Group, which specialises in holidays in spectacular and peaceful locations, Riverside Leisure Park, in Wooler, is situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, within 80 acres of woodland on the banks of Wooler Water.

Verdant Leisure is committed to caring about the environment and sustainable tourism; it constantly reviews all its holiday parks throughout the UK and, where necessary, makes improvements to lower its impact on nature, the surroundings and local culture.

It also supports conservation projects managed by recognised charities.

Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Riverside Leisure Park to our family and it’s great to see its commitment to caring for the environment.

“They really do have a wonderful park in Northumberland where its visitors can really appreciate all that we strive to protect.”

“From dormice to peat bogs, financial support from their corporate membership enables us to protect the natural heritage of our region for future generations to enjoy.”
