Entries are now open for performers to take part in a talent competition which could see them crowned the best in the county.
Organised by Northeast Press, publishers of the Northumberland Gazette, Morpeth Herald and News Post Leader, in conjunction with Tweeddale Press’s Berwick Advertiser, the Northumberland Live talent contest is on the hunt for the best talent around.
Talented musicians, solo artists and groups are invited to take part in the contest, which will see them play on stage in front of hundreds of people this summer.
Northumberland Live is a free outdoor music festival with chart-topping bands alongside local talent and radio DJs, which takes place on Saturday, August 23, in Blyth.
And if you are the lucky winner, or winners, of the competition, you will be joining them.
To enter the talent contest, which is sponsored by Niramax waste solutions, email a YouTube video of your performance to Lisa Aynsley.
To be eligible to enter you, or at least one member of a group, must live or work in Northumberland. Entries are welcome from all genres of music, including solo artists and bands, but you must be available in the weeks leading up to August 15 and August 23.
The best will compete for the title in a live show on Friday, August 15, hosted by Metro Radio at The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth to a panel of judges including those involved in the music industry and over 200 members of the public.
The winners will then be invited to perform at the Northumberland Live music festival alongside chart topping acts.
Northumberland Live will take place at Blyth Links from noon to 8pm on Saturday, August 23.
There will be a selection of food and drink on sale, as well as street entertainers alongside the music acts.
