Little Emilia Bowden is the queen of the flowers.

The two-year-old has been crowned the winner of the Alnwick in Bloom Sunflower Challenge.

Her sunflower, grown at Alnmouth Road, Alnwick, measured a whopping 11ft 4.5in.

In second place was James Robson, three, of North Terrace, Chatton, with an 11ft 1in giant, and third was his six-year-old sister Brooke, whose flower reached 11ft.

Runners-up were Lucy-Mae Edridge, three, Willoughby Park, Alnwick, 9ft 11in; Liam, eight, and Aimee, seven, McDonough, Chapel Lands, Alnwick, 9ft 9in; Reece Hope, four, Swarland Terrace, Red Row, 9ft 4in; Owen Butroid, nine, Victoria Crescent, Alnwick, 9ft 4in; and Catherine Molineux, four, Church Terrace, Shilbottle, 9ft.

The winner will receive a £25 voucher, second place £15, third £10 and the runners-up £5. Prizes will be presented later this month.
