Lindisfarne Middle School played host to more than 300 Year 3 and 4 pupils from north Northumberland first schools last week.

The purpose was to ‘enrich’ the learning of the children in design technology, PE and science by offering specialist staff and facilities. It was very successful and was enjoyed by all the pupils.

Headteacher Steph Hall said: “This is the first time we have offered an event of this size, but we are delighted with the result.

“It was an absolute joy to have the children in our school. They were an absolute credit to their schools, beautifully behaved and highly enthusiastic.”

Pupils followed a programme of ‘potted sports’ in PE, did food-tasting in food technology, built a pencil-holder or bird-box in technology and discovered the ‘wow-factor’ in science.
